Benjamin was born on 14 May 1786, in Guildford Co., North Carolina. He was the son of Joseph Cox and Dinah Rich. Benjamin had two uncles, John and Jeremiah who moved their families to Miami, Ohio in 1804 and 1806. In 1805 there is a Benjamin Cox from North Carolina listed as arriving in Miami, MM, Ohio. It is not certain whether or not this is Benjamin, Mary's husband or his grandfather (Marthas husband). Benjamin is known to be living in Dearborn Co., Indiana territory in 1809 when he married Mary Price at the Whitewater MM on 6 December 1809. Mary was born on 24 December 1790 in North Carolina and is the daughter of Rice Price and Catherine Bryan of Ohio. The family,bible gives information on their 11 children. [2]
