Elizabeth Ward was born about 1798 in the Cherokee Nation (East) the daughter of John "Jack" Ward, a white man, and Katy McDaniel, a Cherokee. [1] She married Elijah Sutton, a white man, about 1815. They were the parents of five children Henrietta, John, Catherine, Harriette, and Lorena. About 1832 she had a son named George Morris. [2] Elizabeth, listed as "Elizabeth Moore Sutton" and children John (Jack), Catherine, and George appear on the Drennan Roll in 1851 living in Going Snake District. [3]
