Luke John Cox (3rd)'s wife was Eliza Jane Venables b 1859 near Ipswitch England died 9/9/28. She had her first child at 25, last at 45. d reg no. 951. In younger life she lost an eye on a branch when horse riding. Having one glass eye she always turned that side away for photos. Parents brought her to NZ on 'Lankashire Witch' in 1865. Her father was James George Walter Venables b 1835 Herefordshire England. Married 1854 London England. Died 3/6/1916 Christchurch NZ. His first NZ job was assisting in the historic Stone store at Kerikeri Bay of Islands NZ. He later worked on building the Great Sth Rd (now S.H.1) from Auckland towards Hamilton. Then was a Coal Miner on the West Coast of South Island, where he met his future brother-in-Law: - William Benjamin Cox.
