Rosanna Cox Fitzgerald is the great grand mother of US President John F. Kennedy.
Rosanna Cox was born circa 1834. She was the daughter of Philip Cox and Mary (?).[1] She married Thomas FitzGerald, son of Michael FitzGerald and Ellen Wilmouth, on 15 November 1857 at Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A.[2] She died on 12 March 1879 at Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A.[1] She was buried on 15 March 1879 at Malden, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, U.S.A. [3]
The grandmother of Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, Rosanna Cox Fitzgerald gave birth to 12 children in her short lifespan, nine of whom lived to adulthood. She died suddenly when she heard a rumor that her entire family had been killed in a train wreck on the way to their Sunday School picnic. The rumor, of course, was false.[3]
