Biography
Harriet was born on 14 Feb 1881 (per original entry in profile) in Provo, Sevier, Arkansas to parents Newton Alonzo Cox and his wife, Sarah Amanda (Fulmer) Cox. According to the 1900 census[1], her mother was born in Arkansas to parents who were born in Holland. Hattie is listed as being 17 years of age and having been born in Feb. 1883.
In the 1900 census Harriet (age 17) was a single daughter of Sarah Cox, widow, in Washington Township, Sevier, Arkansas, United States.[1] Hattie is the 5th or 6th child of her mother who reports that she had given birth to 12 children, of whom 11 were still living. Hattie is also the eldest daughter of the remaining children.
