Died Y. 1820 Warren, Kentucky, USA. Age: 89-90.

Research Notes

Location: There is not enough information to determine whether Lunenburg County or Lunenburg Parish was intended. Lunenburg County did not exist in 1730. It was formed in 1746 from Brunswick County.[2] In 1732, Lunenburg Parish was formed "from North-Farnham, in Richmond Co", and served Richmond County "to aft 1785".[3] It seems likely that John Cox, born 1758 in Halifax County, is his son.[4] Halifax County was formed from Lunenburg County in 1752.[3]

Warning (received 22 April 2018):

Check the data.
  • A child's birth date (Cocke-392 born 1680) should not be before a parent is six years old (Cox-8324 born 1730) .
  • A child's death date (Cox-8325 died 3 Jul 1728) should not be before a parent is seven years old (Cox-8324 born 1730) .
  • A parent's death date (Cox-8324 died 1820) should not be more than 110 years after the birth of one of their children (Cocke-392 born 1680) . This would mean the parent lived to be well over 110.

I believe this may be the father of John Cox b 1758 in Halifax County (based partly on John b 1758 having a child named Coleman).

See Daughters of the American Revolution, DAR Genealogical Research Databases, database online, (http://www.dar.org/ : accessed 22 April 2018), "Record of John Cox", Ancestor # A027043.

<s>Also, based on that John's DAR record, I believe the location for this John's birth was intended to be Lunenburg Parish, not County.</s> I'll add a research note about that

update - added research note, but also changed my mind about Parish being correct. There's just not enough info for me to figure out what was intended.
