James Crockett Craig was born in 1825 in Kentucky, United States, son of James Craig (~1790–~1846) and Jane Brown (~1790–~1860).
James married Mary Ann Stockton (born about 1827 in Albany, Stockton's Valley, Cumberland (now Clinton) County, Kentucky; daughter of Daniel Stockton and Rebecca (Smith) Stockton).
In the 1860 census James (age 35) was in Clinton, Kentucky, United States.[1] James Craid 35, Mary Ann Craid 33, Melissa C Craid 12, David C Craid 8, Wm L Craid 7, Andrew J Craid 4, Hiram V B Craid 1.
In the 1870 census James (age 45) was the head of household in Clinton, Kentucky, United States.[2] James C Craig 45 years, Mary A Craig 42 years, David C Craig 19 years, Wm L Craig 17 years, Andrew J Craig 14 years, Hyram V Craig 11 years, Lucretia Craig 9 years, James D Craig 6 years.
In the 1880 census James (age 56), Carpenter, was the married head of household in Magisterial District 2 Hayes, Clinton, Kentucky, United States.[3] James C. Crage 56 years, wife Mary A. Crage 53 years, son Andrew J. Crage 24 years, son Hiram V. Crage 22 years, daughter Lucretia Crage 18 years, son James D. Crage 16 years.
James died before 1900, aged about 74.
