When Lydia Alice Craig was born on June 28, 1867, in Indiana, her father, Allen, was 30, and her mother, Hannah, was 23. She married David Franklin Zook on July 13, 1887, in Flora, Indiana. They had six children during their marriage. She died as a young mother on September 9, 1896, in Carroll, Indiana, at the age of 29, and was buried in Flora, Indiana.
