Note N507George was born in Main Street, Kilbirnie on 5 September 1894 to James Craig and Elizabeth Glasgow. SRO records and his birth certificate confirm. The birth certificate also confirms that his parents were James Craig, Steelworker, and Elizabeth Craig MS Glasgow.
The 1901 census finds George G Craig living at 62 Bridge Street, Kilbirnie. He is described as aged 6.
Also in the house are father James, head of household, aged 35, occupation Storetaker in Steel Works; mother Elizabeth, aged 32; sister Jane aged 3, and brother David McL Craig aged 1. All were confirmed to be born in Kilbirnie. Grandmother Margaret Glasgow can be found next door.
