Sylvester Aubrey Craig (1914 - 1999)

Sylvester registered for the draft on 16 Oct 1940 while enrolled as a student at Emmanuel Missionary College, (Now Andrews University.)^[5]
He married Mary (Craig) Dreety on March 12, 1941, in Ohio.
They divorced on 16 Jul 1945 in Battle Creek, Calhoun, Michigan. ^[6]

World War II

Sylvester enlisted in the U.S. Army on 14 Apr 1941.^[7]
He entered military service as a Private, but was discharged in 1945, as a Tech Sgt.^[8]
He then married Ruby (Carp) Craig in Sep 1945 at Reading, Berkshire, England.^[9]

They had four children during their marriage.

In 1993, Sylvester and Ruby resided at 32920 Forest Ridge Rd 32720, Deland, Florida.^[10]

Sylvester died died on February 13, 1999, in Forest City, North Carolina, at the age of 84, and was buried in North Carolina.^[12][13]

Sylvester A. Craig Forest City, N.C.

Sylvester Aubrey Craig, 84, of Forest City, N.C, and formerly of Battle Creek died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, in Golden Harvest Rest Home. He was born June 20, 1914, in Whittemore to Harry and Eunice (Lehman) Craig. He was a World War II veteran and retired from Kellogg Co. after working in packaging and shipping. Surviving are his wife, the former Ruby Carp; daughters, Sandra Cruz of California, Shirley Smith of Florida and Lorraine Wellman of Bostic, N.C; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Harry Craig of Battle Creek; and a sister, Joyce Rurka of Battle Creek. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sylvia Atkins. Community involvement, hobbies: Member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Visitation: 2:30 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Rutherfordton, N.C Services: 3 p.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Tom Hughes officiating. Burial: Sunset Memorial Park, Forest City, N.C .^[14]
