William Craighead was born June 13, 1731, in the White Clay Creek Hundred, in New Castle county, Delaware. William migrated to Hanover county, Virginia and then Lunenburg county. During the American Revolutionary War, William was a member of the Committee of Safety, and furnished supplies in support of the Continental Army. [1]
William Craighead is honored for his Patriotic Service by the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution as DAR Ancestor #A027291. DAR records indicate that William died before February 10, 1803, in Lunenburg county, Virginia and that his wife's name was Mildred Thompson. [2] Children of William and Mildred are:
