Biography
James is the son of George L. and Mary Crain. His father is from New York, his mother from Indiana. In 1860, the family was in Otoe, Nebraska Territory. In 1870, they were in Iowa. In 1880, the family was in Oregon and James was married to Maria from Wisconsin.
James married 2) Elizabeth A (Savage) Henderson, daughter of Morgan and Francis (Brisbane) Savage on 13 Apr 1896 at Linn, Oregon. It was the second marriage for both of them.
