Cordelia was born at Shelby County, Ohio, 20 December 1851, and died at Emerson Township, Gratiot County, Michigan, 2 April 1900; she is buried in Ithaca Cemetery in Ithaca.[1] Cordelia joined the Christian Denomination in Ohio when she was 11 years old, and in 1893 she joined the Emerson Methodist Episcopal Church.[2] Cordelia moved with her family from Ohio to Michigan when she was about 18 years old, where she would meet and marry Virgil. Cordelia and Virgil had two daughters together, Gertrude Maud, who married George Wonnacott, and Orpha Luella. Orpha was 17 when her Mother Cordelia died of tuberculosis; Cordelia was 48 years old. Then Orpha herself did not survive childbirth and died at 28, leaving her 3 week old baby, Inez, behind. [2]
