James was the son of John Reid Crandall and Mary J. Agan. He married Lucinda Elizabeth Totten on 2 Feb 1879 in Crawford County, Indiana. Their children were:
After Lucinda died, James married Frances Kimbrel on 11 Jan. 1883 in Orange County, Indiana. Their children were:
He moved to Iowa when he was 40. He died there in 1927 and is buried in Oakdale Cemetery, Cedar, Monroe, Iowa.[1]
