Olive C. CRAVENS, daughter of Y. B. and Jane CRAVENS, was born 20 Mar1849 near Burnt Prairie, Illinois. She spent her entire life in and near this area. For nearly 70 yrs. she was a humble servant of Christ and worked for his cause and the uplift of mankind. CONT She was united with W. C. POTTORFF 10Sep1868. To this union 8 children were born. 2 infants, Mertie and Edgar, and Mrs. J. E. MURPHY and Mrs. Emma Johnson had preceded her in death. She left behind a husband who traversed life's pains with her for more than 65 yrs. Also surviving were 2 sons, Millard and Oscar, 2 daughters; Mrs. A. O. FUNKHOUSER, and Mrs. J. F. FUNKHOUSER, 21 living grandchildren, 20 g-grandchildren, 3 sisters (Mrs. Alice MERITT, Mrs. Mag MERITT and Mrs. Emmer HANNAFORD). CONT At the time of her death she lacked buy 21 days of being 85 yrs. old. CONT The funeral was at the Burnt Prairie C. P. Church on the morning of March 1st with burial in the cemetery.[1]
