"From Franklin to Madison, James Cravens, and wife, and one child, travelled with his household goods in a wagon — with a couple of darkies along, one, an old auntie, around whose waist Mr. Cravens had sewed several hundred dollars in money.
...
"Being a man of strong convictions, and pronounced opinions, he used his influence to get a considerable number of slaves over the line, for which he was at the time, by many, quite severely criticized."

The above move would have been before 1830, There are no enslaved persons or "Free Colored" in the Cravens household in 1830 in Jefferson County, Indiana.
