Biography

John was born on 24 Jun 1801 in Augusta co, Va and died on 8 Jan 1876 in Oregon City, Clackamas county, Oregon. He is the son of James Crawford-(1771-1854) and Nancy Ann Sawyers-(1772-1853).

He married Frances A. Buchanan-(1808-1854), in Arkansas. Together they have these known children listed below;

John is mentioned in the Arkansas, NorthWestern Counties History, 1889; Which states his father came with his very large family coming to Prairie Grove from Tennessee in 1830 on page 147, pp 2[1]

John Crawford passed away at the home of his son-in-law, Dr. Squire Davis Howell and his wife, Martha Naomi Crawford Howell. Martha was the daughter of John Crawford.

John is buried at the Mountain View Cemetery in Oregon City, Oregon. Old Cemetery, Lot 379, ^[1]
