Biography

David Crawford, son of David Crawford (1812-1884) and Margaret (Tennant) Crawford (1823-1897), was born in Ireland, about 1841, while his parents were living there briefly.[1][2] The family returned to St. Cuthbert's Parish, Midlothian, Scotland sometime before 1845, when his brother James was born.

He emigrated to Canada with his parents in 1854. His brother, James W, was the last of the family to be born in Scotland; while William, was the first of the family to be born in Canada, in 1855.

David and his family lived in Brockville, Ontario for a short time, before relocating to Kingston, Ontario by 1856.
This profile is part of the Lanark Highlands, Ontario One Place Study.

David married Patience Warren, daughter of John and Mary Warren on May 10, 1870, at Maberly, South Sherbrooke Township, Lanark County. Patience was 22 years old.[3][4]

David and Patience farmed in Oso Township, Frontenac County, for the rest of their lives. They raised a large family there.[5][6][7][8]

David died April 2, 1907, at home in Oso Township, Frontenac County, Ontario, of Pulmonary Tuberculosis.[9]
