William crawford, is the son of Patrick and sally, was born August 6, 1767. His wife was Nancy Smith. He lived in Rockingham and was the father of the late Benjamin Crawford, of Staunton, William Crawford, of Fort Defiance, and others. [1]
According to the History of Augusta County, Virginia by John Lewis Peyton; page 314; Nancy Smith married William Crawford, son of Patrick Crawford, who is an Early Settler who immigrated from Ireland, then to Pensylvannia, then to Augusta co, Va with his sons, 1. William, who married Nancy Smith; 2. James, died unmarried; 3. John, married Mary Allen.
Nancy is the daughter of Abraham Smith.
Nancy Smith and William Crawford had these children to gether;
1. Benjamin Crawford, married Magdalen-daughter of James Cochran.
