Abigail (Crawford) Melton was a Virginia colonist.

Abigail is said to have been born before 1713 in Northumberland County, Virginia. Her parents are at this time unknown. Her death date and place are unconfirmed. She is assumed to be living after the birth of her youngest known child, Sarah Melton, born about 1736.

She is said to have married Michael Melton about 1728 in Northumberland County, Virginia. Known children include:

  1. Abigail Melton
  2. Mary Melton
  3. John Melton, b. 14 Oct 1729, Northumberland County, Virginia d. before May 1751, Frederick County, Virginia
  4. William Melton, b. Abt 1731 (unconfirmed)
  5. Sarah Melton, b. Abt 1736, Hamilton Parish, Prince William County, Virginia d. Hamilton Parish, Prince William County, Virginia

Four of her children -- John, Abigail, Mary, and Sarah -- are named as heirs in the will of John Melton, brother of husband Michael Melton, in 1750.[1]

Crawford-7293 and Crawford-5810 appear to represent the same person because: I'm not sure if the two are the same woman, but if you have come across any Milton's (sometimes it's Melton) than I think they are.
