James was born in 1866. He was the son of Robert Crawford and Margaret McConnell. He passed away in 1954.
According to Mabel Bedford, "James bought the east half of Lot 7 in 1892 from his brother, Eli, and later purchased the west half to make the 200 acres. In 1939, James' son, Gordon, bought the 200 acres from him. Gordon sold the farm to Bramalea Consolidated Ltd. in 1957. Before selling the farm, Gordon took a separate Deed on 3 acres at the north west corner of the farm on which has been built a house for himself, one for his brother, Herb, and one for his son, Murray."
According to Mabel, James had 2 sons, Herb and Gordon. Gordon had a son named Murray.
