Biography
Birth
Caroline was baptised at St Peter and St Paul, Church Hanborough, Oxfordshire on 3rd February 1822.[1] She was the daughter of Richard Crawford and Phoebe Harris. Richard gave his occupation as labourer on the baptism register.
Marriage
Henry Lancebury and Caroline Crawford were married at St Peter and St Paul, Hanborough on 28th December 1840[2] Henry was a minor, working as a labourer and living in Long Combe, the son of William Lancebury, a labourer. Caroline was also a minor, working as a gloveress and living in Hanborough, the daughter of Richard Crawford, a labourer. Neither Henry nor Caroline could write, so both made their mark on the registers. The witnesses to the marriage were John Lancebury and Hannah Bayliss.[3]
