Biography

Catherine is said to have been born about 1705 in County Donegal, Ireland. . but this is not proven with documentation. She passed away before 1855. There is no documentation of her marriage to George Lewis.

Notes

This name has not been proven. The Mayes Genealogy as well as others give her this name. Some genealogies call her Mary [no surname]. I have assigned Catherine Crawford as her name because 1] it is the most prevalent and 2] because her sons John and Benjamin both named their first daughters CATHERINE.

Birth place- not proven Her birth having been Donigal, Northern Ireland comes from two sources 1] "The Bicentennial History of Bath County" and 2] the Bellman Genealogy which states her daughter Rebecca was born in Donigal, Ireland.

The neighbor north on the Cowpasture River was John McCreery whose wife was Nancy CRAWFORD. Was there any relationship? [remember this: her son John married a daughter of John & Nancy Crawford McCreery.]

When husband George sold his land to his sons John and Benjamin in 1755 no wife was required to relinquish her dower rights. This indicates George's wife was deceased before this land sale. George and Catherine's children can be found here [1]

Not sure on this. The only rejection I made was on another Catherine. I will tell you that the Lewis family plays a part in my family but so far I've not pursued that and all that new of the connection are deceased.
Crawford-5664 and Crawford-8734 do not represent the same person because: Different people - one is Jesse, a man, and the other is Catherine, a woman.
Crawford-5664 and Crawford-8734 appear to represent the same person because: I am accepted your merge, however there is one difference. His name was Jesse Blackston Crawford not Jesse Blackstone. I have not entered all my info and will do so within a few days
Crawford-8252 and Crawford-1184 appear to represent the same person because: These appear to be the same
