Strother and brothers Stephen and Terry migrated to Tippah County, Mississippi before 1853. Their parents were Strother and Elizabeth Ford Crawford of Greenville County South Carolina. Their brother John and sister Nancy remained in South Carolina. The three brothers apparently came to the Dry Creek area about the same time as the Ford family arrived from Greenville County. Strother and Ann's children were George Washington, James Francis, John Marion, Mary C. and William Singleton.
