Uncertain Father's Name
Sources agree that Catherine was baptized on 3 January 1618, either at Bridlington[4] or Cottingham, Yorkshire, England (37 miles apart).[5]
Her father was either John or Robert Creyke/Crayke, disinherited son of Ralph Creyke/Crayke. According to Scots Peerage, she was the second daughter and coheir of John Crayke of the city of York.[6] He was the eldest but disinherited son of Ralph Crayke of Marton, Yorkshire.[6] The Complete Peerage ... disagrees and calls Catherine "the first daughter of Robert Creyke, of the city of York, the disinherited son of Ralph C. of Marton, co. York."[4] Both seem to refer to the same disinherited son of Ralph; whether his name was John or Robert is uncertain.
Marriage and Children
Catherine married before 1640 to James Boyd, 9th Lord Boyd of Kilmarnock.[6] To commemorate their marriage, "James Boyd and Catherine Craik" along with the family arms, was engraved on one of the towers of Dean Castle, the family seat at Kilmarnock.[6]
William, Master of Boyd, afterwards first Earl of Kilmarnock, heir and successor.
Mary Margaret Boyd sometimes said to have married George Keeble of Surrey, England and Robert Beverley of Yorkshire, England, but there is no proof (see her profile)
Eva, both styled daughters lawful to the deceased James, Lord Boyd, 24 March 1659.[17]
Jean, married David Cunningham, 1st Baronet of Robertland.[18] She, died 8 May 1665.[19]
Death and Legacy
Catherine is said to have died in 1654 at York, Yorkshire, England.[citation needed]

Although both names appear to be used interchangeably, 'Creyke' is the name listed on her father's profile. I always prefer to align profiles with the same spelling as their ancestors, unless sources prove otherwise.
Complete Peerage ... says his name was Robert. Both agree he was the disinherited son of Ralph - the only difference seems to be his name, John or Robert?
