Biography

This biography is a rough draft. It was auto-generated by a GEDCOM import and needs to be edited.

Ward was born in 1846. I, George Brundage, believe that Ward Creech changed his name to Ward Watson, and that his gravestone reflects this. Also, his wife's gravestone reflects the name Watson.

Private Ward Beecher Creech Watson was in the Union Army and he served in the 47th Kentucky Infantry. Here is what they did during the Civil War (Source Wikipedia): Scout and patrol duty in eastern Kentucky until June 1864. Operations against Morgan May 31-June 20. Mt. Sterling, Ky., June 9. Keller's Bridge, near Cynthiana, June 11. Cynthiana June 12. Duty at Camp Nelson, Ky., and on line of Kentucky Central Railroad until April 1865.

Ward was my g.g.grandpa or Papaaw as we say in Ky.He has became a very interesting character to me.I have discovered that many people have been researching him, some not even descendents.I have a photo of him and his wife Mary and some of their children.I have it in my foyer and from time to time when I pass by I look at my g.g.papaaw,and I catch a twinkle in his eye,and I wonder about him.

His story starts somewhere in V.A or on the state line bordering Ky,somewhere close to Harlan or Lee county V.A.His people were some of the first settlers in this great country way before state maps and counties were drawn up.

We find Ward in the Lee county V.A.census with his brother Jonathan, his brother Ben,and his mother Mary, who was married to a Thompkins then, but lived next to many Creech's.If one …

Note that his parents name refers to a Brewster and not a Creech. Also, note that there are 11 children.
