Biography

From The Peerage: Wilhelmine Cresswell is the daughter of Captain Francis Joseph Cresswell and Barbara ffolkes. She married Sir Henry Roy Forbes Harrod.

Her married name became Harrod.

From Wikipaedia: Harrod married Wilhelmine Cresswell (Billa) (1911–2005), step-daughter of General Sir Peter Strickland, in 1938. One of their sons was Dominick Harrod, an economics correspondent for the BBC.

Wilhelmina was born in the Docking district in the last quarter of 1911.[1] The GRO Index has her mother's maiden name as Holkes, the transcription in the IGI has it as Ffolkes.

Her parents would have been Francis J. Cresswell and Barbara Ffolkes, who were married in the Freebridge Lynn district in the first quarter of 1911.[2]

She passed away in 2005.[3]

Francis Joseph Cresswell born in Kings Lynn in 1883.[4]

From the 1891 census his parents were George F. A. age 38, and Eva L. Cresswell age 32, both born in Norfolk. George was a banker.[5]

Barbara Ffolkes was most probably born in London in 1884.[6]

From the 1891 census her parents would have been Martin H. B. age 41, and Wilhelmina age 36, both born in Norfolk. Martin was a civil engineer.[7]
