Harrod married Wilhelmine Cresswell (Billa) (1911–2005), step-daughter of General Sir Peter Strickland, in 1938. One of their sons was Dominick Harrod, an economics correspondent for the BBC.
Wilhelmina was born in the Docking district in the last quarter of 1911.[1] The GRO Index has her mother's maiden name as Holkes, the transcription in the IGI has it as Ffolkes.
Her parents would have been Francis J. Cresswell and Barbara Ffolkes, who were married in the Freebridge Lynn district in the first quarter of 1911.[2]
