Biography

Myrna was born 16 June 1920 in Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana.^[1] She was the daughter of Hurley John Crist and Hester Maud Edwards.

She married Samuel Robert Mackey on 31 January 1943 in Marion County, Indiana.^[2]

Myrna died on 28 February 2004 in Beaver County, Pennsylvania,^[3] and she is buried in the Bergholz Cemetery in Bergholz, Ohio.^[4]

BEAVER, Pa. - Myrna J. Mackey, 83, of Beaver, Pa., formerly of Bergholz, Ohio, took the hand of Jesus and went to Heaven at 4:55 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004, in Beaver Medical Center, Beaver, Pa. following a lengthy illness. Myrna was a longtime ac-tive member of the Bergholz United Methodist Church; was a food pantry volunteer; helped with the flu shots for seniors in Bergholz and was a former member of the Bergholz Senior Citizens Club. She was born June 16, 1920, in Indianapolis, Ind., a daughter of the late Hurley John and Hester Maude (Edwards) Crist. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Samuel Robert Mackey, who died May 30, 1995; one brother, John Edward Crist; a sister, Gletha Gibbs; a half sister, Thelma Kesler; and a niece, Sharlene Crist. Surviving are a daughter, Cheryl (Joel) Walker of Beaver, Pa.; a son, Samuel J. (Star) Mackey of Clinton, Ohio; two grandchildren, Justin and DeShanna; one brother, Richard N. Crist of Mooresville, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Everhart Funeral Home, 285 Second St., Bergholz. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Bergholz United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mark Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Ber-gholz Cemetery.
