Biography

Mary was born in 1859.

Mary Malissa Crist daughter of Andrew J. and Louisa Rennells Crist, was born in Bouborn county, KS, February 8, 1859, and passed away at her home northeast of Unionville on February 11, 1944, at the age of 85 years and 3 days. She was married to William Whiteaker Davis on December 26, 1883 in Putnam county, MO who has been her faithful companion for 60 years and 52 days. To this union five children were born -- Clyde H. of Unionville; Martha Jane, who proceeded her in death; Justin A. an Eldo C. of the home; and Mrs. Audrey K. Brady of St. Louis, MO. She also leaves to mourn her departure one sister, Mrs. Emily Olivia Davis; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews, and numerous other relatives and a host of friends. She confessed her faith in Chirst, uniting with the Baptist church at an early age. She gave that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. She was a devoted wife, a good friend and neighbor, ever willing to lend a helping hand to others. She will be sadly missed by the entire community. Funeral services were held at the Husted Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 15, at 2 p.m. conducted by Clifford Hart, Christian minister. The body was laid to rest in the Thompson Cemetery. ^[1]
