Biography

David G. Crockett was born the 12th of May, 1809 in Tennessee. David was the son of Archibald Crockett and Elizabeth Parker.

David is named in the will of his father, Archibald Crockett. David's mother, Elizabeth is named as Executrix of her husband's will; however, Elizabeth signed for David to represent her in Archibald's estate.^[1] The Court of Giles County, Tennessee admitted Archibald's will for probate and approved David G. Crockett as administrator as follows: ". . . Ordered that David G. Crockett be appointed administrator on the Estate of Archibald Crockett deceased, with the will of said deceased annexed, where upon he gave Bond and Security and was sworn as the Law directs."^[2]

David appears in the 1850 Federal census in Giles County, Tennessee. David's household appeared as follows: David age 40, occupation - farmer; Martha L. age 31; Sarah C. age 6; Martha M. age 5; Ehamindondus M. H. age 3; and Robert H. age 2 months.^[3]

David appears in the 1860 Federal census in Polk County, Missouri. David's household appeared as follows: David G. age 50; Martha age 40; Sarah age 16; Martha age 15; Milton age 13; Robert age 9; and Violet age 6.^[4]

David died the 2nd of August, 1862 in Polk County, Missouri. David was buried in the Pleasant Hope Cemetery, Polk County, Missouri.^[5]
