Elisabeth Crofut, daughter of Josiah Crofut and Rebecca Gregory Crofut was born July 4, 1790,[1][2][3] in Danbury, Connecticut.[1][3]
Eliza Crofut of New Milford married Oct 13, 1842, Alexander Barron, of Franklin.[2][3][4]
He was born in Scotland[3] and died 27 Feb 1856.[2]
Alexander had previous wives.
(1) ______ - Children: James, Jane, and Phebe. Two oldest lived in Nova Scotia.[3]
(2) Ruth Bonney - Children: John (lived in Conklin, New York), William (lived in Springfield, Pennsylvania), Mary and George.[3]

By 1855, Alex and Eliza moved to Newark, Tioga, New York. Alex's grandson Martin V.B. Sterling, age 19, lived with them.[6]
In 1860, sisters Eliza Barron, 69, and Huldah Crofut, 67 and their 35 year old niece Eunice A Crofut lived together in Newark Valley (post office) Newark Valley, Tioga, New York.[7] Eunice was the daughter of James Libbe Crofut.
She died Aug 12, 1861,[8][2][3] in Newark Valley[3] and is buried at Hope Cemetery, Newark Valley, Tioga County, New York, USA[8]
