They had 3 daughters & 1 son with them at the time. The Crones were full blood Swede, & my Grandfather Crone wanted his daughters to marry Swedes....Needless to say, the Ashley boys started going with the Crone girls. My mom fell in love with my dad & they were married 4/Feb/1915. My grandfather disowned my mother & began to make plans to move back to IL becasue my Aunt Lola was falling for my dad's brother, Oscar. My mother never saw her parents again after her marriage to my father. However, she was taken in by the Ashley family & was loved by them all as one of the family."

She was raised a Lutheran, but having no Lutheran church in this community, she became a Baptist because all the Ashleys were members of this church. She always got the family ready for church and was loved by everyone in the community."
