Family records give birth date as 4 Aug 1829 in Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England; Death certificate gives birth date as 3 Dec 1829.

There is a baptism of a John Cropper 3 December 1829 in nearby Carlton on Trent [1], parents are not recorded on the transcript but this is the same location as the baptism of his brother William two years later.

He appeared on the 1841 census in North Clifton, Nottinghamshire with his father and step-mother. His father was the miller in North Clifton at that time [2]

John passed away in 1901 and is interred at Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha, Waukesha County, Wisconsin.

John Cropper was b. 3 Dec 1829, England d. 4 Aug 1901 in Milwaukee, WI and is buried in Prairie Home Cemetery, Waukesha, WI. Death cert. No. 3464 Milwaukee, WI and Death record No. 02512 State of WI. His occupation was a Miller. He married Ambrosia Mason abt. 1856
