It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Robert by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
Y-chromosome DNA test-takers in his direct paternal line on WikiTree:
A 1965 article by Paul W Prindle in NEHGR v119 p243+ presents Robert Crosby's ancestors back to John Crosby[1], died 1502, Robert's closest common male ancestor with fourth cousin Simon[6] Crosby of Eleanor Crosby's book. Prindle has the same sequence of Robert Crosby ancestors as WikiTree except that he has John[2] instead of Miles[2]. Prindle's article complements Eleanor Crosby's book on descendants of Simon Crosby, using the same source, the 1914 work in England of Joseph Gardner Bartlett, specifically a 237-page manuscript Bartlett presented to Eleanor Crosby in 1914.
