Jonah was born about 1735, in Massachusetts. Jonah Crosby was the son of Robert Crosby (1711-1743) and Mehitable (Chandler) Spaulding (1709-1768).

Jonah married Lydia (Chandler) Crosby (1735-1814) on 22 December 1757, in Townsend, Massachusetts.[1]

Jonah provided Patriotic Service during the American Revolution. Jonah was elected a selectman of Winslow, Maine, in 1775, and served for 7 years in the position. In 1782, Jonah was voted in on the committee to hire men to serve for two years.[2][3]

Jonah died on 24 April 1814, in Albion, Maine.[4]
