Biography

Nathan Crosby was born 1771 in Dutchess County, New York. He married Lydia Cole, his stepmother's niece. Their children were:

Peter H. Crosby 1802 - 1873
Cyrus Crosby 1807 - 1867

The family lived in Dutchess, New York in 1800. [1] They moved to Wayne, Steuben, New York before 1820. [2] Nathan Crosby left Putnam County, New York in 1812, and settled near the Crystal Spring in Sunderlin Hollow, New York. He lived there two years and went back to Delaware county, New York. A year later, he returned to Milo, Jefferson Township, Huntington County, Indiana and lived three years. Finally, he went to Barrington, Yates, New York and settled where his son, Peter H. Crosby, now resides, on land adjoining Joseph Finton on the south. [3] Nathan died in 1823 and is buried in Barrington Baptist Cemetery, Barrington, Yates County, New York. [4]
