Biography

The will of Eleazer Crosby of Harwich, dated 23 October 1759 and proved 17 Dec 1759, named his (second) wife "Easter;" daughters Rebecca Hopkins, Phebe Clark and Sarah Yeats/Yates, Patience Paine, Zerviah Crosby; granddaughter Keziah Baker; sons Eleazer, Isaac, Prince and Silvanus Crosby; Eleazer to be executor.[1]

His first wife was Patience Freeman, the daughter of John Freeman and Sarah Merrick[3] [4]

His second wife was Esther (Rider) Smith, widow of Dean Smith[3]. Their intentions were published on June 16, 1733 in Harwhich, Massachusetts[5] [4]

Eleazer and Esther (Rider) Smith Crosby's children included:

  2. Sylvanus Crosby[3] [4]
  3. Zerviah Crosby[3] [4]

Esther was alive when Eleazer died, and received dower rights when his estate was administered on July 20 1760[3].
