Biography

Charles was born on November 25, 1859 in Iowa. He was the son of Charles Crosby and Elmira Smith. Soon after Charles' birth the family relocated from Iowa to the Village of Cannon Falls in Minnesota.[1] The family would then later move to Hastings in Dakota County, Minnesota where Charles spent most of his young life.[2][3][4][5][6]

At the age of 34 Charles married Lula J Morrison in Lacrosse, Wisconsin. [7] They then appear to have lived with Lula's mother and possibly one of her sisters in LaCrosse.[8]

Charles and Lula had one child, a boy named Clark. The family continued to have Lula's mother Mary living with them through their moves in Wisconsin and on down to Texas.[9][10][11] They then lived in San Antonio the rest of their lives.[12]

Charles eventually passed away on October 17, 1952 at the age of 93.[13][14] He was laid to rest in Mission Burial Park South cemetery in San Antonio where his wife would meet him 7 years later.[15]
