William died on May 26, 1855 in Clarke County, Mississippi. He is buried in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Quitman, Clarke County, Mississippi.[2]
After William's death, his wife Mary married Arthur J. Martin in about 1860. They were the parents of a son George A. Martin, born 1867.
