Jule A. Durnbaugh, 92, of Winona Lake, Indiana died at 6:25 a.m. Monday, January 5, 2009 at Grace Village Healthcare at Winona Lake. She was born January 21, 1916 in Wabash County, Indiana to Chester H. and Blanche B. (Hester) Crow.
Jule was a 1934 graduate of Fairmount High School. She married John David Durnbaugh in the Lagro United Methodist parsonage on September 11, 1943; he died April 27, 2001.
She was the manager of the F.W. Woolworth Lunch Counter, worked at Papa Joe's, and the Wabash Cafeteria, all of Wabash, and also was the housekeeper for Leo Beitman prior to her marriage.
She was a member of the Asbury Country Church, formerly Asbury United Methodist Church, Wabash, and the United Methodist Women.
Jule lived most of her life on the family farm in rural Lagro. She lived in Wabash a few years before moving to Grace Village in 2000.
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Cedric Crow, Modlyth Crow, and Max Crow, and her sister, Bonita Gackenheimer.
