Biography

Joseph Crowell was the son of Ebenezer Crowell and Jerusha Harding of Barrington, NS^[1].

On February 3, 1829, he married Janet Wilson, daughter of Seth Wilson and Elizabeth Smith^{[1] [2]}. Their children included:

1. Joseph Crowell, born November 23, 1829^[2], who died unmarried^[1]
2. Mary Wilson Crowell, born February 17, 1832^[2], who died unmarried^[1]
3. Hannah Lovitt Crowell, who was born in 1833^[2], and died in 1835
4. Hannah Lovitt Crowell, born 29 September 1836^[2], who married Archibald Hopkins, son of Archibald ^[1] in 1855^[3]
5. Elizabeth who married Harvey Trefry, son of James^{[1] [4]}
6. Samuel born 1843, who married Edna Corning, daughter of Bowman^{[1] [5]}
7. Ebenezer, unmarried drowned^[1]
8. Henry who married Jane Cleland^{[1] [6]}
9. Lydia unmarried^[1]
