Biography
Theophilus Crowell was the son of Ezra Crowell Esq. and Bathsheba or Bathshua Smith of Chatham MA. In the 1820's he and his young family migrated to Rhode Island, living at Smithfield, then Providence, then Pawtucket. He married 30 Jan 1812 Dorcas Harding of Chatham MA the daughter of Theodore Harding and Mercy Doane.
