William Grundy Crowley was born on the 1st of April, 1830 in Tennessee to John J. Crowley and Elizabeth Baker
In 1850[1] it appears he was living in Giles, Tennessee in District 11
In 1860[2] he was living in district 9 in DeKalb County, Tennessee.
He would marry Rebecca Mary Foutch on the 4th of July, 1853 in DeKalb County, Tennessee and they would have:
He would join as a confederate soldier in the Civil War.
He would be wounded in the Civil War at the Battle of Shiloh April 6, 1862, was shot just above left knee[3].
He was taken to Corinth ?? & Later to Jackson in a helpless condition. Sep 7, 1862, he reached home, much to the surprise of his family who thought he was killed at Shiloh[3].
He would become a Chancellor Judge for 16 years[3]
In 1870[4] He would be living in district 9 in DeKalb County, Tennessee
In 1880[5] he would be living in District 9, DeKalb County, Tennessee
In 1900[6] he was living in District 9 in DeKalb County, Tennessee
He died on the 11th September, 1909 in Smithville, Tennessee[7] and would be buried in the Crowley Cemetery in Smithville, DeKalb County, Tennessee[8]
