John Crozier was the eldest son of William Crozier and his wife Elizabeth Dabernont. He was likely born say 1360 (very rough estimate) as his mother was born in 1341 and he was old enough to be a retainer of John of Gaunt. His father was a steward of John of Gaunt's household.
He was still living in 1387 as he was the executor to his father's will. However, he died soon after his father, apparently unmarried and without children. It was his younger brother William Crozier who would inherit the Crozier estates.

He was executor of his father's will in 1387; his brother had succeeded to the Crozier lands by 1392.
