Biography

Matilda Crump was born in 21 June 1845 at Cromarty, Wollombi, New South Wales, Australia^[1]and was christened on 7 September 1845 at Hexham, New South Wales, Australia^[2], the daughter of Isaac Crump and Phillis Craft. She was the sister of Sarah (Crump) Reynolds, Rebecca Ann Crump, Francis Isaac Crump, Mary Ann Crump, Jane (Crump) Willis, Elizabeth (Crump) Anderson, William Joseph Crump and Benjamin C. Crump.

She married John Duncan Ferguson, using the name "Crumpton", on 1 August 1865 in Wollombi, New South Wales, Australia^[3][4]and their children were Walter John Frederick Ferguson, Rubelina Phillis Harriet Ferguson, Nathan William James Ferguson, Retima J. E. Ferguson, Theodosia Ferguson, Lyell Ferguson, Alice Maud Ferguson, Edward Ferguson, Ethel Ferguson, Henrietta Jane Ferguson and Matilda Ferguson^[5].

Matilda died, in childbirth with her 11th child, on 27 September 1889 at Kangy Angy, (Near Gosford), New South Wales, Australia, aged 44 years ^[6] and was buried at the Ourimbah Cemetery, New South Wales, Australia.
