Biography
Nancy Crutchfield was born about 1756 and married John Watkins by 1777, when their son Asa was born.[1]
John and Nancy (Crutchfield) Watkins were living in Augusta, Georgia, circa 1800.[2] In 1927, their great-grandson A.F. Watkins wrote:
- He moved from Virginia to Georgia about the opening of the Revolutionary War. He was married to Nancy Crutchfield, whether before or after his coming to Georgia is uncertain. He had a daughter...Betsy Scarborough. ... The record speaks of two other daughters of John Watkins, a Mrs. Dye and a Mrs. Dillard.
