DEATH OF LADY MIRRIELEES OF GARTH.
Lady Margaret Mirrielees of Garth, after a very brief illness, has died in her 73rd year.
Lady Mirrielees was the widow of Sir Frederick Mirrielees, and elder daughter of the late Sir Donald Currie of Garth and Glenlyon. The funeral took place at the Crematorium, in Maryhill, Glasgow, The serve was conducted by Rev. F. H. Georgeson, Fortingall, and Rev. J. B. Athol Gordon, Kenmore.
Lady Mirrielees succeeded to Garth upon the death of Lady Currie in 1920, and has taken the deepest personal interest in the welfare of all on her estate, and of the entire community of Fortingall. Lady Mirrielees was president of the District Nursing Association, and along with their sister, Mrs Moteno, gave it invaluable support. She was likewise the founder and president of the Women’s Association, to whose success she was greatly devoted. She also took a deep interest in the welfare of the children and youth of the district.
