Biography

Name

Her last name at birth was previously listed as Custance. However evidence from "Genealogical and memorial History of the State of New Jersey. Volume II. 1910. ed by Francis Bazley Lee. Lewis Historical Publishing Co., New York. p531 - 540" is persuasive that her last name was Curtis.

Marriage

Mary and Freedom Lippincott made their intentions for marriage a second time at the Burlington Friend's Monthly Meeting at John Woolston's house on the "6th of the 4th month 1680" (6 Jun 1680).[1]

She married Freedom Lippincott on 14 OCT 1680 in Burlington, New Jersey.[2] Their children are:

  1. Samuel Lippincott
  2. Thomas Lippincott
  3. Judith Lippincott
  4. Mary Lippincott
  5. Freedom Lippincott

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Mary by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Mary:

I changed the LNAB to Curtis because Freedom's wife's name is listed as Mary Curtis clearly spelled out in "Genealogical and Memorial History of the State of New Jersey - Volume 2, pg. 535, 538-539 (ed. by Francis Bazley Lee, 1910, published by Lewis Historical Publishing, New York).

I have recently come across persuasive evidence that Mary's last name was Curtis, not Custance. Freedom's wife's names listed as Mary Curtis is clearly spelled out in "Genealogical and Memorial History of the State of New Jersey - Volume 2, pg. 535, 538-539 (ed. by Francis Bazley Lee, 1910, published by Lewis Historical Publishing, New York). I believe that this profile should be updated to list Curtis as Mary's LNAB.
