Biography
Sir Gilbert Curwen (d. after May 1402),[1] was the son of Gilbert.[2][3] He served in parliament in the 47th, 48th, and 50 years (about 1374, 1375, 1377) of the reign of Edward III.[4] Gilbert was born in 1315 and passed away in 1403.[5]
Gilbert's first wife was Alicealias Anne, who may have been the daughter of Hugh Lowther of Wythop, Cumberland.[1] They were the parents of Sir William Curwen,[1] and two (unnamed) children who died of the plague.[3][2]
He remarried to Isabella Derwintwater, widow of Christopher de Moresby.[2]
