Rowlesburg.
December 11, Mrs. Ellen Virden died near Parkersburg, at the home of her niece, where she had just gone recently to visit among relatives and friends, but was taken ill of pneumonia, which dreaded disease proved fatal. Mrs. V. leaves three children to mourn her loss––Mrs. Jac. Cornell and John F. Pierce of Rowlesburg, and James L. Pierce of Baltimore. The interment was held here, and a host of sorrowing friends and neighbors followed the remains to the cemetery. The bereaved ones have the sympathy of the entire community in their loss, but we must remember that “God is just” and trustingly say “Thy will be done.”
She is buried in the Riverview Cemetery, Rowlesburg, Preston County, WV.
